How can we increase our IQ?

By

It’s common to think of intelligence as something that you’re simply born with. Some people, after all, make being smart look effortless. Intelligence isn’t a set trait, though. It’s a changeable, flexible ability to learn and stimulate your brain that can improve over time. The key is to practice lifestyle habits that support and protect your brain. Let’s start “How can we increase our IQ?”.

We recommend you to read our article with the music below:

Here are 5 lifestyle habits that will boost your IQ:

“How can we increase our IQ?”

1. Exercise daily

Regular exercise provides a massive boost to your brain health and cognitive performance. Exercise not only helps improve brain health, but it also helps decrease stress levels, anxiety, depression and dementia.

Research has shown that people who exercise regularly are smarter than people who exercise occasionally. They also perform better at tests. People who exercise regularly can typically score 4 points higher than those who exercise once a week.

Now, this is only a small improvement — which means that your IQ will definitely be higher if you exercise for at least 10 minutes.

2. Get enough sleep

The effects of sleep on brain development are so important that one of the most significant threats to brain health is not getting enough sleep. Research shows that getting between 7 and 9 hours of sleep each night, or sleeping for seven hours straight, will provide a significant boost to your brain.

What’s more, we need a certain amount of sleep to ensure that the brain can fully recover from hard physical activity. Research has shown that people who get too little sleep for at least five days in a row are more likely to have poor cognitive performance on cognitive tasks the next day.

3. Meditation

People who meditate report a more focused, peaceful state of mind. Mindfulness meditation teaches you how to slow down, be more present, and reduce stress. This type of meditation has been found to improve memory and reduce anxiety. In addition, mindfulness meditation has been found to help you solve problems better.

4. Eat healthy

People who eat a diet rich in high-quality protein and omega-3 fatty acids have a higher chance of reaching the mental age of their chronological age. This is because these foods are very good for the health of your brain.

You should aim to eat a diet rich in foods like eggs, chicken, fish, whole-grains and nuts, and vegetables. The benefit of eating these foods is that they also are packed with health-promoting nutrients like folate, potassium and vitamin B12. These nutrients have been shown to protect the brain and brain cells from damage and disease.

5. Be aware of your stress levels

Stress can play a big role in our cognitive performance. So, how can we reduce the negative impact of stress on our brains?

One of the easiest ways to combat stress is to just change your surroundings. Working from home is a good example of this because you’re not spending as much time in the office environment that is known for triggering stress.

The first step, and the easiest, is recognizing the benefits of the behaviors you want to change. Most of us want our brains to be as smart as we can possibly be, or at least as intelligent as someone else is. That’s what distinguishes you from the people who are better at it than you are. You’re doing it wrong. If you work hard at increasing your IQ, you can see the results in your life. These are things that will make you smarter, stronger, more attractive, happier, less stressed, healthier, smarter

When you change your lifestyle to support your intelligence, it can also be applied to other areas of your personal life, like your marriage or your health. Being smart is more than just intellectual capacity.
